Meet Anita
Seattle Metro Birth and Postpartum Doula
Anita’s Approach to Doula Work
Anita was drawn to doula work after she spent 4 years volunteering for Baby Safe, an organization in South Africa that was designed to support local families and mothers in need. During her time there she was providing support to pregnant and newly postpartum moms who were in crisis.
During this time something became very clear to Anita. All pregnant and postpartum people need to feel loved and connected to the people around them for basic wellness. Anita finds immense joy in supporting families emotionally and elevating their voices to get their needs met. She learned so much about herself during this time and feels completely indented to these wonderful families for all the things they have taught her. Simply she fell in love with supporting families and with that she found her dream job!
Anita became a doula so she could continue to offer support, hope and options to birthing people all over the world. She longs to see parents grow into the people they feel most whole as and she believes this can be hugely impacted by their birthing and postpartum experience.
Anita’s Background
Anita, is a perinatal professional, keepsake artist, and placenta specialist. She has been a professional doula since 2013 and has supported over 100 families during their transition to parenthood. She has lived in Washington since she was a child and has made Arlington, WA in Snohomish Co. her home.
When Anita is not totally obsessing about childbirth she loves to spend my time with her wonderful wonderful family. Her family consists of her husband, son and dogs. Together they enjoy catching up on our favorite shows, drinking coffee and walking (“walking” is a thing, right?!).
