Wendy Scharp
Wendy Scharp is the owner of three successful Portland, Oregon Based Companies. Portland Doula Love, Doula Love Training Center and PDX Placenta. Wendy has been running Portland’s Premier Doula agency since 2013 and the company continues to expand each year. She had thriving doula practices in Madison, Wisconsin and Ashland, Oregon before moving to Portland in 2011 to settle with her family. Wendy has been a Birth Doula since 2003, DONA Approved Birth Doula trainer since 2012 and has been running a 6 Month Doulas Mentorship since 2017.

Who is Wendy Scharp?
Wendy and her husband Shawn have owned Doula Love LLC since 2013. This couple began their journey into parenthood at the young ages of 16 and 17. The couple celebrated 25 years together in 2022. Their family is made up of their three kids Taylor, Blaeith and Sol. After their first child was born in 1998 the couple has been on a mission to support families.
Wendy holds an AS in Human Services and has had a robust doula career since 2003 serving hundreds of families independently and thousands of families through Doula Love!
Shawn has a Masters Degree in Social Work and is bilingual in Spanish. He opened his private practice Mindful Papa in 2018 after homeschooling the couple’s kids all the way through middle school. The couple has spent a bulk of their career working in the field of addiction, homelessness, and mental health.
After so many years of seeing the effects of broken families, the couple has dedicated their lives to helping well families stay well and offering a step up to parents who may be struggling with their transition into parenthood.
