Jenna’s Approach to Doula Work

Jenna brings 10+ years of experience caring for families in many stages of transition and development, but the most exciting and special to her is the postpartum window. She believes every family deserves access to the care team needed to have the most positive, healing and connective postpartum experience possible.

Past clients have described Jenna as “a bright light to our weekly routine”, and “an integral support during this major life transition. Jenna is a gem and a natural nurturer.”

While every family and their needs are unique, Jenna believes the purpose of being a postpartum doula is to take some of the executive load off of the parents and help them maximize bonding time with their new-to-earth tiny human. This can look like restocking items before you have to think of it and then meal prepping a wholesome breakfast for your week to go smoothly!

Perhaps her greatest quality is her ability to anticipate needs and be proactive with what the family, and the baby needs. She is a compassionate and calming influence in a turbulent time of transition. There’s a reason for the saying “it takes a village” and Jenna would be honored to be a pillar of care, understanding, and thoughtfulness in your village.

Jenna’s Background

Jenna earned a Bachelors in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Movement Studies from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and finds this extra knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, psychology and infant development serves her clients well.

She is originally from the Midwest and has spent the last 6 years in Portland. When they aren’t adventuring the city and enjoying the wonderful foods Portland has to offer, you’ll find her on a hike, snuggling her cat, Harper, or cooking meals for friends. Outside of her doula practice, she supports three wonderful families on a weekly basis as a professional Nanny.
