Kaitlin’s Approach to Doula Work
Kaitlin's main goal is to help foster a safe and nurturing environment for your pregnancy, labor, birth and early postpartum. She will bring the latest evidence based research to the table to help you create your ideal birth plan and make sure your voice is heard through advocacy with your birth team. Kaitlin believes in providing emotional and physical support for both birthing people and partners during labor and birth. She does this by being well versed in your preferences for labor as well as providing massage, breathing techniques, counter pressure and position changes that the birther may be needing. With a calm demeanor, Kaitlin serves as an anchor in an otherwise intense environment that labor and birth can create. With a passion for lactation, Kaitlin helps new parents to establish a good start to breastfeeding and chest feeding, but is also supportive of every form for feeding babies. Being a source of information, great resources and support for new families is Kaitlin’s favorite thing and is looking forward to working with you!
Kaitlin’s Background
Through a series of big life events, Kaitlin decided that life is too short to spend time doing anything less than what you love, which helped spark her journey into birth work. Now living in Corvallis, Oregon with her awesome partner, three kids and two rambunctious dogs, Kaitlin loves to nurture and care for those around her. In her spare time, she loves to garden, read, hike, cook and just lounge on the coastal Oregon beaches. She expects to be a life-long learner and follow her passion for birth in every direction it may pull her.
