Liz’s Approach to Doula Work

Liz believes that families are the true experts of themselves and their babies. Her role is not to lead, but to walk alongside them, offering evidence-based information and support as they discover the path that feels most aligned for their unique family. She is passionate about emboldening parents, helping them navigate the nuances of birth and early postpartum life so they can move forward with confidence in their innate abilities.

Her approach is rooted in the understanding that all birthing people deserve to feel respected and supported in their choices. Having witnessed life’s bookends through her work in both birth and end-of-life care, Liz brings a calm, grounded presence to the intensity of the birth space. She meets vulnerability with a soft energy and practical knowledge, from infant feeding support to comfort measures for labor. To put it simply, as your doula, your goals are her goals.

Liz’s Background

Liz has always found purpose in supportive roles. For a decade, she worked as a professional infant nanny, a role that nurtured her natural proclivity for newborn care and her deep respect for the family unit. A brief period working as a CNA, providing end-of-life care, gave her a sacred perspective on the power of presence during life's most profound transitions.

Her path solidified with the birth of her own daughter. The intentional choices she was able to make for that experience were so empowering that she felt called to help other families find that same sense of strength and clarity. This led her to become both a certified doula and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She uniquely integrates expert lactation and feeding support into her doula care, believing that confident beginnings in feeding are a cornerstone of postpartum thriving.

Liz lives in Springfield with her husband, their daughter, and their animals. When she is not supporting new families, she fills her cup by tending to the other things in her life that grow — mainly her garden, her relationships with family and friends, and her belief that small, timely actions of care make all the difference.
