Meet Peg

Central Willamette Birth Doula

Peg’s Approach to Doula Work

For Peg, being a doula comes with a deep understanding that childbirth is a huge life transition for the birthing person and their family. She knows it is an incredible honor to be invited to participate in such an important moment in time. Peg wholeheartedly believes every birthing person and their family deserves to feel cared for and supported during their journey.

As an experienced doula and licensed massage therapist, Peg has come to understand her role is to support her clients through being present, answering their questions and supporting them in creating a plan that best supports their desired outcome. She knows when birthing families are well supported in these ways it will help relieve some of the anxiety they may be feeling.

Peg has supported families with vaginal births, planned cesarians, VBACs, medicated and non-medicated births, multiples, water births, inductions and perinatal loss. She has had the honor of supporting traditional and non-traditional families including married, partnered, single parents, LGBTQA+, multicultural, immigrants, houseless, religious, non-religious and parents of various age groups. Peg believes that doula support should be available to everyone.

Peg’s Background

Originally from the Chicago area, Peg moved to Oregon in 1996 to be near the ocean and the mountains. After completing college Peg found a passion for wildlife biology and spent almost 10 years in that field.

In 2008, Peg went back to school to become a massage therapist. During massage school Peg became pregnant with her first child which sparked her interest in the perinatal period. This prompted her to continue her education in prenatal, postpartum and labor massage. In 2018, she took a birth doula workshop and has been supporting birthing families as a doula and massage therapist since then!

Peg and her husband have been married since 2005 and have two teenage children. Her children have been incredible teachers for her and taught her so much even before they were born! Peg is a life long learner and always striving to learn and grow from those around her.

Peg's family has a love for animals and over the years have added honey bees, fish, lizards, chickens and dogs to the family. When she’s not working or taking care of animals, you might find Peg hiking with friends, cooking for her family or on some other adventure. Peg is down to earth, has a good sense of humor and loves to laugh.
