Portland Metro Postpartum Doula
Raquelle’s Approach to Doula Work
Babies come to us all sorts of ways. Whether your baby came to you through adoption, surrogacy, or IVF; was an unplanned surprise(s), or a long awaited rainbow baby, the initial adjustment of introducing an infant to the household can be overwhelming and challenging.
In the modern world we are not always surrounded with the community necessary to aid growing families in the ways they require to thrive. As a postpartum doula Raquelle will work to ease this delicate transition with great care. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to support; Raquelle will help you and your household navigate the huge change you’ve just undergone, in the particular ways you need. Possessed with a deep craving to nurture throughout all facets of life, Raquelle will gladly be a part of the scaffolding necessary to hold the newly expanding family structure. Raquelle is diligent in her efforts to continuously decolonize her birth and postpartum work, while centering voices that are systematically stifled.
Raquelle’s Background
Raquelle is an avid gardener, animal lover, and mother to a spirited five-year-old. After giving birth in 2017, she realized how unsupported new families are, and how quickly they get left behind and forgotten. She decided to become trained as a postpartum doula in 2019 and embarked on a career that she is fiercely passionate about. She loves music, hiking, camping, walking, sewing, hand embroidery, and reading as well. She is a generational cycle breaker, committed to respectful parenting through a collective liberation lens. Raquelle and her partner moved to Oregon in 2014 to pursue their respective educational aspirations and they both fell in love with the state and never plan on leaving.
