Meet Syah
Portland Metro Birth and Postpartum Doula
Syah’s Approach to Doula Work
Syah provides holistic, heart-centered care that honors both the science and the soul of birth. Her work is rooted in cultural traditions, ancestral wisdom, and inclusive support for all birthing people especially —— Black, Brown, 2SLGBTQIA+, and disabled families, creating spaces that are both culturally affirming and deeply restorative. She offers full-spectrum services including prenatal education, labor support, herbal care, postpartum planning, and placenta encapsulation.
Syah’s Background
Syah brings lived experience, empathy, and deep community connection to her work. A proud Black and Indigenous Mexican queer woman, Syah comes from a long line of women who birth, nurture, and protect with fierce love. Her children—ages 22, 17, and her newborn rainbow baby—inspire the multigenerational love and wisdom she brings to each family she supports. Outside of birth work, she finds joy in herbal medicine- making, writing, spending time with her husband and children (especially in nature) and nurturing spaces for collective healing.
